Our genuine leather First Class seats are wider and have a more luxurious feel to help you relax. There’s also extra legroom so you can stretch out and have a more comfortable journey.
Need some quiet time to catch-up on work or unwind? Our large tables will give you plenty of room to set-up and make the most of your time on-board.
Wheelchair spaces on our trains are available in Standard Class only.
So you can keep your mobile devices fully charged when travelling with us, our spacious tables have a world-first - complimentary wireless charging integrated into the tables.
With Aircharge you simply place your compatible device onto the charging pad without having to connect it with a cable, keeping your plug free for laptops or other devices.
Please note that not all of the SWR fleet of trains offer leather seats and at-seat wireless charging in First Class. The trains that run on the Exeter to London Waterloo route offer a different configuration in First Class.

You can upgrade to First Class on weekdays by paying the difference between your ticket an the appropriate fare for your journey. You’ll need to do this at the ticket office before your journey.
Save money by booking First Class Advance tickets, which are sold up to 12 weeks in advance for most routes.
If for any reason you weren’t able to find a First Class seat, you can claim back the difference you paid by contacting us.
Starting from only £5, upgrade your travel on weekends and public holidays and make the most of First Class.
Our Weekend First Upgrades are available from the guard on your train, subject to available space.
